Бенедикт Камбербэтч присоединился к актерскому составу фильма "Багровый пик", который собирается снимать Гильермо Дель Торо. Об этом сообщает издание Variety. В картине также будет сниматься Эмма Стоун и Джессика Честейн. Сюжет держится в строгом секрете, известно лишь, что это будет классическая история о призраках, но рассказанная на современный лад. Предполагается, что съемки стартуют в феврале 2014 года.

Helmer Guillermo del Toro is assembling quite the guest list for his haunted house thriller “Crimson Peak,” with Benedict Cumberbatch set to star in the Legendary Pictures movie.

Cumberbatch would join Emma Stone and Charlie Hunnam.

Plot details are unknown as del Toro and Lucinda Coxon work through a rewrite on a script del Toro and Matthew Robins originally penned.

Legendary will produce and be a participating financing partner on the movie, with Universal Pictures retaining an option to finance at a later date. The film is set to begin shooting in February.

It’s another major part for Cumberbatch, whose schedule has been packed of late.

Among his roles this year: “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “12 Years a Slave,” “August: Osage County” and “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” He is currently filming “The Fifth Estate” where he will play WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. He’s also busy with TV work with the third season of the BBC’s “Sherlock” about to go into production and HBO’s “Parade’s End,” which bowed in February.

EXCLUSIVE: Bradley Cooper is poised to join the cast of Jane Got A Gun, stepping in to play the bad guy role that Jude Law exited shortly after We Need To Talk About Kevin helmer Lynne Ramsay‘s abrupt exit. Cooper joins Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton in the film that Warrior helmer Gavin O’Connor took over.

Despite a tough start, the film is now two weeks into production. The producers, including Scott Steindorff, Portman, Terry Dougas and Aleen Keshishian, have pulled off a minor miracle here. As Deadline revealed exclusively, the cast and crew found out the morning of the first day of shooting that Ramsay had withdrawn from the film. They managed to keep the crew and cast from scattering until they could set O’Connor. Then Law exited, because he wanted to work with Ramsay. I’ve seen independent films fall apart with less adversity, but these guys persevered. They got the film started, but needed to find a replacement with someone with comparable value to Law in the overseas marketplace. They’ve overachieved in landing Cooper.

With a million downloads on BitTorrent in less than a day, the season premiere of Game of Thrones is breaking records on multiple fronts. Never before has there been a torrent with so many people sharing a file at the same time, more than 160,000 simultaneous peers. Data gathered by TorrentFreak further shows that Australia has the highest piracy rate of the popular download destinations, while London tops the list of pirate cities.

As expected, the new season premiere of Game of Thrones has generated quite a bit of activity on various BitTorrent sites.

Hundreds and thousands of downloaders went out to grab a copy of the show, breaking the record for the largest BitTorrent swarm ever in the process.

A few hours after the first torrent of the show was uploaded the OpenBitTorrent tracker reported that 163,088 people where sharing one single torrent. 110,303 were sharing a complete copy of that particular torrent while 52,786 were still downloading.

These are mind boggling numbers that we’ve never seen before.

Previously the record for the largest BitTorrent swarm belonged to the season premiere of the TV-show “Heroes” with 144,663 peers.

Counting all the different releases it’s estimated that the latest Game of Thrones episode has been downloaded over a million times already. Considering the above there is little doubt that Game of Thrones will once again be crowned the most downloaded TV-show of the year.

Ожидается, что финальные мировые сборы картины не превысят 200 миллионов долларов, при этом только производственный бюджет составляет 195 миллионов долларов. Еще около 100 миллионов было потрачено на рекламу.

Warner Bros. is facing a substantial financial hit on Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Slayer. Now four weeks into its run, the fractured fairy tale starring Nicholas Hoult and Ewan McGregor is on track to lose $125 million to $140 million for the studio and financial partner Legendary Pictures, insiders tell THR.

That would put the film midway between Universal's 2012 flop Battleship and Disney's John Carter in terms of financial damage. Legendary financed half of the production budget for Jack, minimizing the studio's loss.

Jack likely will top out at $65 million domestically and about $140 million internationally, resulting in a global total of not much more than $200 million. That's not enough to cover the film's price tag, which includes a production budget near $200 million and a worldwide marketing spend north of $100 million.

New Line, a division of Warner Bros., was counting on a strong foreign performance similar to Warners' Clash of the Titans films, but with tough competition from Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful and Paramount's G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Jack is slow overseas.

New Line can take to heart that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hit $1 billion in global receipts in the first quarter, while Warners has a strong 2013 summer slate anchored by Man of Steel in the wings. Legendary financed half of the Superman reboot, along with WB's other summer pics The Hangover Part III and 300: Rise of an Empire.
