В декабре 2015 года в Лондоне прошли съемки британского фильма "К Римлянам" (Romans) с участием Орландо Блума. Малобюджетный фильм от независимой студии Тalent Group и Brillstein Entertainment Partners and CAA с отличным сценарием, очень живо прописанными диалогами, интересными сюжетными поворотами и злободневной темой для Англии, основанной на реальных событиях. Орландо играет Малки, человека, который в детстве подвергся сексуальному насилию со стороны священника. Как обычно это бывает, мать не поверила сыну, а ребенку пришлось 20 лет жить с грузом психологических и сексуальных проблем. В итоге, Малки решает простить своего обидчика, не смотря на всепоглощающею его тягу к мести и отрицание Бога. Так же в фильме снимались: Джанет Монтгомери, Чарли Крид-Майлз, Энн Рейд, Алекс Фернс, Дино Фаззани, Рори Нолан, Джеймс Смилли, Дерек Рой, Крэйг Расселл. Режиссерами стали братья Людвиг Шаммасян и Пол Шаммасян, сценарий написал Джофф Томпсон. Один из продюсеров фильма Шитал Винод Талвар сказал: "Орландо стал идеальным выбором для Малки. LONDON — “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Lord of the Rings” star Orlando Bloom has joined the cast of “Romans,” which starts principal photography in West London next week. The pic is directed by the Shammasian Brothers (“The Pyramid Texts”) from a screenplay by Geoff Thompson.
“Romans,” which is set in present-day London, is based on true-life events. It follows the story of a middle-aged man, Malky (Bloom), still trying to come to terms with crippling insecurity, the residue of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a trusted and idolized priest. The abuse by the priest, the withdrawal of his mother’s love and abandonment of God set Malky’s life onto a twisted trajectory of violent employment, serial self-abuse and psychotic sexual jealousy.
The narrative follows Malky as he confronts the demons that have been haunting him for 20 years and makes the decision to forgive his abuser despite aching for violent revenge.
“Romans” is produced by WSG Entertainment’s Sheetal Vinod Talwar, James Harris and Mark Lane of The Tea Shop & Film Company, and Jasper Graham of Dreamscape Films.
Talwar said: “‘Romans’ is an incredible script. The dialogue is brilliant and believable; the reversals and surprises are well placed and powerful. The characters and situations are vividly drawn. Orlando was the perfect choice for ‘Malky’ and will take audiences on a raw and harrowing voyage through the inner human psyche.”
Graham said: “This project has a powerful message that can’t be ignored and we hope to give a fresh perspective on a sensitive, topical issue.”
