07 июня у Джуда Лоу было не только премьерным днем фильма "Гений" (Genius), он так же умудрился побывать на записи шоу The Late Show with Stephen Colbert в Нью-Йорке. Итак, все началось с того, что папарацци поджидали его у студии CBS, Джуд был в хорошем настроении (в последнее время все чаще и чаще, спасибо Филиппа :)), он вежливо помахал рукой собравшимся и предостерег от лишних вопросов. На самом шоу Джуд Лоу откровенно развлекался, за что и снискал себе аплодисменты из зала. Наверное, самый интересный в записи был его рассказ о том, как он примерял костюм супермена и что из этого вышло. Как театральный актер, Джуд продемонстрировал актерскую игру в экстремальных условиях - ему пришлось декламировать Шекспира "быть или не быть" с пинг-понговыми глазами на лице, и, конечно же, он рассказал о своем новом фильме "Гений" (Genius) и роли Томаса Вульфа. Jude Law confesses that he tried on the Superman costume before declining the role that eventually went to Henry Cavill.
lenta.ru: Британский актер Джуд Лоу рассказал, что ему предлагали роль Супермена, но он отказался, увидев в зеркале свое отражение в костюме этого героя. Об этом, как сообщает The Daily Star, актер поведал на телепередаче «Позднее шоу со Стивеном Кольбером», которая вышла 7 июня.
«Режиссер фильма очень хотел завлечь меня в проект. Он сказал, что они подготовили совершенно новый костюм, и я должен его примерить. Я примерил этот костюм, и когда увидел свое отражение, то тут же представил себе все эти постеры со мной в роли Супермена. И я сказал: о ужас, нет!» — сказал артист.

The actor has revealed how he was offered a role to play Superman - but turned it down because he hated the outfit.
His admission came during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Stephen asked if he was offered a role in the DC comics world to which Jude replied: “"This was a while ago. They rebooted Superman. Not this last time with Henry Cavill. They did it once before - when I was obviously young enough to play Superman.
“So I was approached and at the time it didn't float my boat. I just really didn't want to go there."
Stephen was shocked, asking: “You didn’t want to be the Man of Steel?”
Jude said his English heritage would have been a major issue: “I'm an Englishman, and I just felt like... it just didn't seem to fit.”
It seems although the 43-year-old was less than impressed with how he looked in the iconic superhero suit.
"And I was always worried about the outfit it and I just didn't fancy it. And this director was very keen to meet and impress it upon me."
The star revealed that he actually did try the suit on: “So I take the suit into the bathroom. Suddenly I'm putting it on and then I look around and I'm in a mirror and suddenly, I'm Superman, right? And the music kind of comes.
"And then I had this picture of me in that costume, you know, in posters all around the world and I was like, 'No way!' and I unzipped it.
“But I was Superman for two minutes. That’s enough.”
The role eventually went to Brandon Routh.
