Ежегодный Лондонский кинофестиваль (BFI London Film Festival) 07 октября 2015г. наконец-то открывает свои двери для фильмов со всего мира. Мы ждем премьер "Высотки" (High-Rise) с Томом Хиддлстоном, "Лобстера" (The Lobster) с Колином Фарреллом и других фильмов. Но накануне фестивального безумия с удовольствием посвящаем минутку внимания мероприятию, которое прошло накануне открытия BFI LFF 2015. 06 октября 2015г. Британский институт кинематографии впервые выбрал официальным послом британского кинематографа Тома Хиддлстона. Это почетное звание подразумевает, то отныне Том исполняет обязанности по представлению британского кино в целом, а также на официальном уровне содействует работе института по созданию нового поколения молодых кинематографистов и любителей кино в Великобритании. Том Хиддлстон и раньше поддерживал BFI, зато теперь еще активнее станет продвигать ключевые проекты, участвовать в благотворительных акциях, образовательных программах, поддерживать молодые таланты, а также курировать вопросы сохранности уникального национального киноархива. Возложение на Тома Хиддлстона кинематографической миссии было приурочено к торжественному ужину в честь открытия фестиваля BFI Luminous Fundraising Gala. Во время непродолжительного пресс-марафона на красной дорожке BFI Luminous Fundraising Gala Том Хиддлстон множество раз выразил свою признательность Британскому институту кинематографии за оказанную ему честь и отвесил массу комплиментов действительно хорошо проявившему себя в этом году английскому кино. Накануне торжественного вечера было также выпущено официальное заявление с реакцией актера на новую "должность": "В современном обществе кино - это одна из самых мощных, общедоступных, демократичных и гибких форм искусства. Оно позволяет нам видеть мир вокруг и жизнь других людей. Кино играет жизненно важную роль в формировании национального самосознания, уверенности и чувства единения. В ИАШ собраны самые значимые образцы мирового кино и телевидения. Их нужно ценить и оберегать так же, как мы ценим и бережно храним все наши культурные ценности: от живописи и музыки до библиотек и музеев. BFI: The BFI today announces that British actor Tom Hiddleston has become its first official BFI Ambassador. As the champion for film in the UK, the BFI’s charitable cause is to create a flourishing film culture and to drive the success of the industry. Tom’s new Ambassador role will be a life-cause to advocate for British film and the BFI’s vital work in building the next generation of film talent and film lovers in the UK.
Tom’s film career is testament to the medium of film as an art form in all its glory. In parallel to starring in Hollywood blockbuster hits – including Thor, The Avengers and War Horse, Tom has been a committed artistic influence in the development of British film, working with key British filmmakers including Joanna Hogg (Archipelago), Terence Davies (The Deep Blue Sea) and Ben Wheatley, whose upcoming film High-Rise stars Tom and is premiering at the BFI London Film Festival on Friday 9 October.
Tom Hiddleston said: “Film is an art form – one of the most powerful, accessible, democratic and transformative in our society. It allows us to see the world around us, and the lives of others. A lifelong supporter of the BFI, Tom will help raise awareness of the BFI’s key activities as a cultural charity including its film programmes, film education, film preservation at the BFI National Archive and BFI led initiatives to build the next generation of film talent such as the BFI Film Academy.
Tom will attend the BFI’s fundraising gala LUMINOUS tonight, taking to the stage for his inaugural BFI Ambassador speech to explain why he is such a passionate supporter of the BFI. LUMINOUS guests, some of the best known faces and most talented names in the British film industry, will gather to raise funds for the BFI National Archive – the UK’s national collection of film and TV.
