В заключительный день 53-о Нью-Йоркского кинофестиваля (New York Film Festival 2015) состоялся ночной показ, вернее премьера фильма-байопика "Убить трубача" (Miles Ahead), где одну из главных ролей сыграл Юэгн МакГрегор. 10 октября в кинотеатре Alice Tully Hall в Lincoln Center на красную дорожку вышли Юэн Макгрегор, Дон Чидл, Лейкит Стэнфилд, Майкл Стулбарг и Эмаяци Коринеальди. "Убить трубача" - американский биографический фильм режиссера Дона Чидла по сценарию самого Чидла в соавторстве со Стивеном Бэйджелманом, Стивеном Дж. Ривелом и Кристофером Уилкинсоном, основанный на жизни джазового музыканта Майлза Дэвиса - джазового трубача и бэнд-лидера, оказавшего значительнейшее влияние на развитие музыки XX века. Дэвис стоял у истоков множества стилей и направлений в джазе, таких как модальный джаз, прохладный джаз и фьюжн. Фильм снят о нескольких безумных днях в конце 70-х годов. Юэн играет журналиста по имени Дэйв Брилл, который хочет написать статью о знаменитом музыканте, надеясь рассказать подлинную историю Дэвиса "своими словами." ew.com: Stepping behind the camera for his directorial debut, Don Cheadle brings the life of jazz legend Miles Davis to the big screen with Miles Ahead — a project that the Oscar-nominated actor co-wrote and also stars.
The upcoming biopic, which premieres at the New York Film Festival on Sunday, follows Davis during the late-1970s when he had stepped away from life in the public eye.
In the latest clip (below), a journalist named Dave Brill (Ewan McGregor) is looking to write a piece about the famed musician, hoping to tell an authentic story in Davis’ “own words.” But Davis isn’t exactly ready to open up to.
Cheadle’s introduction to Davis came at an early age as his love of jazz led the budding musician to pick up the saxophone. “I remember the Porgy and Bess album by Gil Evans and Miles Davis that was in my house. Man, that album cover was so iconic,” Cheadle told EW during an interview last year. “His picture isn’t on the cover — it’s just a man in a crisp white shirt and a woman next to him, pulling at the trumpet, which is very emblematic of the story we’re telling in a way. Him holding on to the music and in our story, Francis, the love of his life, that tug between the music and his love, and where they connect and how they move away from each other. That was my introduction.”
